For the 1st Semester, my students will be studying Informational Text so I created an intro video using the Indiana Jones Theme. I will use this theme throughout the entire semester to introduce each unit.
For the 2nd Semester, my students will be studying Literary Text so I created an intro video using the Stranger Things Theme. I will use this theme throughout the entire semester to introduce each unit.
About Angela Plank
As a seasoned educator with 15 years of experience teaching a diverse range of grade levels, I am a lifelong learner passionate about reading, technology, and traveling. I am skilled in communicating effectively with others in various ways. I have experience assigning tasks, overseeing their completion, and guiding others to implement best practices. I have earned a Master's degree in Language and Literacy from Arizona State University and a Bachelor's in Education with a concentration in Communicative Arts Composite. I hold a level 3 professional teaching license in New Mexico, with endorsements in Language Arts, Reading Specialist, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and Educational Technology Coordinator. I am excited to teach 9th grade English Language Arts for New Mexico Connections Academy online for my fourth year.

About Yvonne Wong
I am a National Board Certified Teacher in Literacy and hold a dual license in K-8 Education and Early Childhood Education with endorsements in ESL (TESOL), Language Arts, and Gifted/Talented. I have essentially taught all grade levels from K-8, mostly in full inclusion and multi-level classrooms. I taught eight years in elementary and one year in middle school grades in brick-and-mortar classrooms. I currently teach 8th-grade Language Arts in a virtual school, but I have taught middle school in 7th and 8th-grade virtual classrooms for four years. Teaching in a virtual environment has motivated me to learn how to integrate technology into my classroom so that students are engaged, empowered learners that are prepared with 21st Century skills. Not only do I enjoy teaching students, but I enjoy teaching educators as well. I am a lifelong learner and look forward to supporting others in their journey to incorporate technology into their classroom.
